An accurate and precise UV spectrophotometric method with multivariate calibration technique for the determination of dronedarone hydrochloride in pharmaceutical dosage forms has been described. The term multivariate calibration refers to the process of constructing a mathematical model that relates a property such as content or identity to the absorbance of a set of known reference samples at more than one wavelength. Dronedarone shows maximum wavelength at 288 nm using methanol as a solvent and obeyed Beerís law in the linear range of 10-35μg/ml. The present method was found to be accurate, precise, and can be successfully used for quantitative estimation of dronedarone in drug and tablet dosage form compare to other complex techniques.
